Stretch mark correctionStretch Mark Treatment
What Can I do about those unsightly stretch marks?
Stretch marks occur normally as a result of puberty, pregnancy, hormonal changes and weight gain/loss. Although it is estimated that as many as 90% of women have them, this fact does little to alleviate the embarrassment we feel when wearing shorts, bathing suits, etc. Until now there were few options for stretch mark treatments but the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently cleared Palomar's fractional laser treatment for stretch marks. At ASPB, we utilize the Palomar system and the Lux1540 handpiece. Finally, we have an excellent aesthetic solution for our clients.
Does the treatment hurt? The treatment is very tolerable but does have some discomfort associated with it depending on the area being treated. Ice is used to provide added comfort.
Palomar's fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing laser minimizes the appearance of stretch marks with no downtime. The skin may look swollen and red for 1-5 days following the procedure.
How does the treatment work? The Lux 1540 delivers and array of high precision microbeams to create deep and narrow columns of coagulation in the dermis and the epidermis that triggers a restorative, natural healing process. This results in healthy new tissue and promotes new collagen deposition.
